A topic that no one talks about, yet something that everyone feels.
So today I am still on my study leave period, for which I will go back to school on Wednesday, and in this time I have been on the internet looking at several different things and I happened to read a blog which I found out to be written by one of my friends, he has been at this blog writing game much longer than I have by the look of it, and in one of his blogs, he wrote about grief. this friend of mine goes to school with me and is one of my two best friends from school and i know a lot about him. I am not going to mention his name or give a link to his blog, this is for two reasons, one I believe he should be given his privacy, and two because I write this blog so that I can get any ideas I have and anything I have on my chest, out, and he is one of my best mates, and therefore I do not want him to read about what write, knowing that I wrote it.
My friend wrote of when his father passed away, I remember it happening, we were in school, it was break time and we were laughing our heads off when he got a phone call from one of his cousins, but he never told us what had happened. the next day he never came into school, and that was not like him, then the next day, again he never came into school, so at lunch, I called him and that was when he told me, at first I thought he was joking, but then I heard him crying through the mobile. I then did as much as I could to support him, I visited his home, gave him advice (as well as I could), and managed to persuade the students in our school to not mention it as per his request.
Grief, pain, harm, things I (just like many others) try to stay away from. these things make my me feel very 'awkward' (if that makes sense). When these things happen to me, then I try to let them all go in any way I can, but when they happen to other people, I try to avoid them at any cost. but even this task could be hard because if they happen to your loved ones, then you must help them get through it as you would wish that they help you get through it, if these things ever happen to you!
